Samsung Galaxy M20 vs Galaxy M10 - Visual Size & Design Difference Comparison
Samsung Galaxy M10 & Galaxy M20 are two Android smartphones launched in India on February 28th, 2019. This is a new M-series lineup which means that both phones have something in common. For example, both the Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20 feature an Infinity-V display. Has you can see from the pictures below, both have a very large display that covers almost the entire front side of the phone, with a very tiny V-shaped (waterdrop-style notch) notch at the top.
The Galaxy M20, however, features more RAM and storage space for the top configuration (4GB/64GB vs 3GB/32GB, the M20 features a higher resolution display (2340x1080 pixels vs 720x1520 pixels), a more powerful processor (Exynos 7904 Octa vs Exynos 7870 Octa), a higher resolution main camera and more.
However, we are here to talk about the design. From the front, judging by the images, they look very much identical, but you can spot a few design differences when looking at the specifications. The Galaxy M20 features a 16cm (6.3") display, which is slightly larger than the 15.8cm (6.22") one of the Galaxy M10. The M20 is 1.5% (1.1mm/0.04in) narrower, 0.5% (0.8mm/0.03in) taller and 12.5% (1.1mm) thicker than the M10. Maybe the thickness is something that also allowed Samsung to put a larger 5000mAh battery into the M20 compared to only 3400mAh in the M10, but I guess other components where either removed or those weren't miniaturized as compared to the M20 - an impressive battery indeed.
It's also worth mentioning, and it might not be clear in the images, that the Galaxy M20, based on the official specs, has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display, whether the M10 has a 19:9 aspect ratio. It also seems, judging by the M10 vs M20 side by side comparison pictures that the M20 has a slightly smaller chin compared to M10, not by much, but something that still looks visible in the images.
At the back, both the Samsung Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M10 are quite similar, when it comes to the camera location, LED flash and overall design. However, we can notice that the Galaxy M20 features a rear-facing fingerprint reader, which the M10 lacks and there is a speaker located at the bottom right in the M10 which isn't visible on the M20.
In terms of colors, both phones are available in Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black colors. They are nice looking Android smartphones, no doubt, but nothing that really make them stand out from the rest. We've already seen companies trying to attract consumers by using very attractive back designs, however here, we have a very uninspiring back design for these two smartphones. If you are like me, you are going to put a non-transparent cover on the phone so you don't care about that anyway. However, some people, because they have a phone with a unique back, prefer buying a transparent cover so the beauty of the back of the phone can shine through it.
