iPhone XS Max - Big Screen, Comfortable Size

The Apple iPhone XS Max is a relatively large device (157.5 mm height and 77.4 mm width) but due to its slim bezels, it's relatively small for a phone with a 6.5-inch display. It's definitely larger than the iPhone XS and that larger screen estate definitely help to enhance the viewing experience, whether you are playing games, watching a video, browsing web pages, viewing photos, typing, etc.

The bezel-less design is one of the main reason why many people will find this phone very attractive and comfortable to use as well. I personally know many people who don't like big devices. They prefer using a smartphone that you can put easily in a small front pocket and not carry in a carrying bag or large back pocket. This is why the bezeless design is such an attractive offering for phablets if you can call them even phablets.

Still, the iPhone XS Max even with its borderless design is still significantly larger than the iPhone 5S (123.8mm x 7,6mm). I personally think that this is a good compromise. You do however get such a better user experience with a large display, so the larger dimensions will be less of a distraction or inconvenience. You'll be so much immersed with the content, that you probably will forget about what bothered you with the size in the first place.

I recommend checking out this comparison. You can see what makes the iPhone XS Max such an attractive package. I compared it versus the iPhone XS, iPhone 5S, and the iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone 8 Plus (158.4mm x 78.1mm) is 0.9% wider, 0.9% taller and 5.% thinner. So basically, they are almost the same size, but the thing to notice here is that the iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5-inch display compared to the iPhone XS Max that has a 6.5-inch screen, a big difference. The iPhone 8 Plus has big top and bottom bezels, the iPhone XS Max ones are very thin.

Although some things might not be clear at first sight, after seeing the iPhone XS Max alongside the XS, the 5S and the 8 Plus side by side, and knowing the what screen size each one has, you understand what makes the XS Max such an attractive offering. I have no doubt that many people will opt to buy the XS Max because of its larger screen and the fact that that the size is still about the same as the iPhone 8 Plus. If you have the iPhone 8 Plus, it's a no-brainer, you would want that larger screen and you are already used to the size.
